38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
When Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River, God called out from heaven saying, “This is my son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” God loved Jesus with the most perfect love; an unconditional love known as “agape” love in the Greek.
The reason he did was because Jesus was absolutely perfect. God, the holy and perfect God, in the most perfect love, loved Jesus who was holy and perfect. And here’s the amazing part: when you have faith that Jesus is your Savior, God loves you just like he loves Jesus.
When he sees you, he sees Jesus. You have things from your past that you’re ashamed of? Jesus paid for them. You’re perfect in God’s sight. You have things that you didn’t do that you wish you would have? Jesus accomplished them for you. You’re perfect in God’s sight.
When you are in Christ Jesus, nothing will separate you from God’s love. No matter what you are going through, God loves you because Jesus took on all of your sins. Nothing can separate you from the love of God.
