7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.
When Jesus fixed our relationship with God, he made us God’s child. He is our Father, we are his children. It is nothing that we deserved, but only because of God’s undeserved love for us. We call that grace. And the moment that faith was created in your heart, God wrote you into his will. You are now his heir, and because you are his heir you will get an inheritance from him. But what does that look like? What does God have to give you?
Everything. God owns everything. Everything is his. But here’s the amazing part: unlike an earthly inheritance, God’s inheritance will never perish, run out, or expire. We will never get tired of his heavenly kingdom. There, you will inherit peace, joy, happiness, and perfection forever. There you will receive immortality, the fountain of youth, and a painfree life forever. But maybe the most important thing, the thing to look forward to the most, is the eternal relationship with your Father in heaven.
To see him with your eyes, to hug him, and to have a heart filled with God’s perfect and eternal love forever. All of this is yours because of Jesus. Why is it so incredible that God chose to do all of this for you? What aspect of heaven, your inheritance, are you most looking forward to? Why?
