4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. 6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.
Have you ever been waiting on God? Me too. The people of the Old Testament waited on God too. In fact, they waited thousands and thousands of years for the Savior to be born. But in order for God’s plan of salvation to be complete, the time had to come when everything was set in place. Jesus was born at the exact right time, in the exact right place, to experience the exact right death so that our salvation would be complete.
In other words, God knew when to best send Jesus, and Jesus won for us eternal life. The people waited a long time before he was born, but God never abandoned them. Though the people grew impatient, God was with them the entire time working out his plan of salvation.
Today, you may be waiting on God, but he is with you. He sent his Son into the world when the set time had fully come to save you. No matter what you’re going through, he is with you and he is working to bring you to you heaven. So pray for patience and wait for the Lord. His timing is always perfect.
Why is it so hard to be patient when it comes to waiting on God’s timing?
