God does not lie.

18 Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”

Luke 1:18

Zechariah was a priest. He knew the Old Testemant. He knew how God could do anything and answer any prayer. But when the angel, Gabriel, came and told him that he’d have a son at his old age, he doubted. He needed some sign. Some assurance that this would happen.

We aren’t much different are we? We have the Bible and we see the promises that God has made in there, we have even seen how he has fulfilled those promises to people in the Bible, but we doubt they could be true for us. We, like Zechariah, say, “How can I be sure of this?” Though we might not know how God can keep his promises, we believe it. Why? Because God can’t lie.

So when he tells you he loves you, when he tells you you’re forgiven, when he tells you heaven is yours, he isn’t lying. He’s telling the truth because he always keeps his promises. Find your confidence and trust in God’s promises to you today.
